Failing one exam not the end of road

Failing one exam not the end of road
Lead me from death to life
from falsehood to truth
Lead me from despair to hope
from fear to trust
The news items from different papers mentions that teenagers ended their lives after the announcement of CBSEXII, and State Board exam results.
Such exam related suicides have been occurring every year. One finds that the number of such deaths is increasing every year.
Who can be blamed for such incidents? One can understand the pain of the parents who lost their children at such a tender age. But aren't they fully or partially responsible for building up the mental structure of their children, particularly in this age and time when competition is so tough and aspirations every child are quite high. Parents cannot escape from their responsibility of maintaining a graph of the performance of their children right from their childhood.
Every child is embedded with one or the other talent and most of the parents fail to understand it in time and nourish it.
The concept of bringing up a child only to become an Engineer or Doctor should change now, as we know both these professions have lost their credibility.
Not only the parents but also the youngsters should change their mindset and build alternative careers. Youngsters should also be given counseling well in time preferably pre exam and post exam, to make them understand that failing one exam is not the end of the road. In fact, failure is another stepping stone to success. Children should be made to read compulsorily the autobiography of our former President APJ Abdul Kalam – Wings of Fire – to boost their mental outlook and prevent suicidal tendencies.
